Find out what you're in for if you decide to watch this movie. All the buzz has it that insidious is one of the scariest movies ever produced. But this movie is so much more than just being terrifying. It's complex, subtle, and lures you in with your own desire to have a look at what's going on. There are red herrings galore, unexpected plot twists, and mystery all over the place. If you're not prepared to watch something that will make your hair stand on end then this might not be for you. You'll become increasingly invested in this story that's told through multiple points of view until the truth is revealed in its entirety... and it's not necessarily what you think. Like other horror flicks, insidious is not for the faint of heart. There are lots of scenes that will make your skin crawl because they are so realistic. The sound effects are extremely well done and will send chills up your spine whether you were expecting them to or not. It's because these sounds aren't forced upon you that they're so effective; if there had been too much screaming it would become annoying, but in this case the sounds are strategically placed to emphasize how frightening this movie really is. I can't express enough how truly scary this movie is, but I'll try to point out some elements that make it special to me. First of all, the musical score is some of the best I've heard in any horror movie. It harkens back to classic horror movies and is very pleasing on the ears. It has a spooky, haunting sound that adds to the tension throughout the movie. The gore is also top-notch which doesn't usually happen in movies today. The actors are all pretty good but I can't say any one of them stands out because they're really just there to portray their part without being too distracting. They're more "real" than most actors are now days so they blend into the background which makes them perfect for this kind of movie. They don't have to "act" or be any more entertaining than they are so the emphasis is put on the story itself. Another thing that sets this film apart is all of the different perspectives it gives you. The camera work is done so well that you'll only see what's happening when it's happening. So when you're in one scene, the camera is looking at another character, then that same character will come into view in another scene, then yet another character will appear in yet another scene but there will always be a clue as to where she/he is located. cfa1e77820
